The Story of American Express

Amex was founded in 1850 in the United States. It began as a freight and valuables forwarding company and later became a travel company in 1915. They launched their first personal card in 1958, the American Express Card.

In 1984, they were the first in the world to introduce the most wanted card in the market, Platinum Card. This card was introduced to the Philippines in 1991. The Manila office opened in 2015 with only 66 employees, and this number continues to grow to date.

The Philippines office provides transaction process outsourcing for international payment card businesses and travel businesses. This includes technical support, back-office support services, contact center services, vendor management services, and program management.
