One of the coolest things about my role is the freedom that is given to me when it comes to decision making. I am free to search and evaluate for myself potential partnerships for our organization and the other teams I work with are really open when it comes to brainstorming ideas.

What's your role at Emma like?

I am responsible for all logistic operations for the Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam market and it honestly feels like a whole new world for me since I come from mostly a Finance background. These include ensuring our items are being delivered on time to customers, making sure we have enough inventory on hand and estimating logistics costs for the company. An exemplary day of work for me is when I am able to create tangible contributions to my team through the data-driven decision making

What's your background?

Honestly, I have been shy most of my life and it was only during University that I tried to break out of my shell. It was during this time when I realized how much I liked talking to people of different backgrounds by attending exchange programs abroad. This also served as the foundation in equipping me with the necessary collaboration skills to solve complex issues within the company. I have only been in this job position for a little over a month but I already see multiple opportunities for me to make an impact and grow professionally.

What can you say you are proud of accomplishing at Emma?

In my 1 month here in Emma, I was proud to be able to influence the decision of our BD team by proposing an alternative solution to the current issues being faced and being able to justify the solution with data. Through this, I was able to create a significant impact as to how Emma manages its costs, showed ownership of the countries I am currently handling and I was able to grow through collaboration with other teams.

What’s the toughest part of your role?

Probably the toughest part starting out in this role is that it's completely different from my previous role which was mostly a finance role. All the different terminologies and wider range of stakeholders you have to take into account every day is something I need to be mindful of always when making decisions.
