What's your job about?
I am currently working at Hitachi Solutions as a Technical Analyst. Hitachi Solutions is an IT company that offers solutions and products to customers such as Microsoft Dynamics 365. In my current project, I am a data analyst and developer. I migrate client’s data into the new system and develop forms that are needed. Teenagers can understand what I am currently doing if they have any idea about basic coding or even about analytics. But the one thing that they will have an edge into really understanding about the work, is if they have an idea about Microsoft Dynamics 365.
What's your background?
I grew up in Makati with my family – my mom, siblings, grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles. During elementary and high school, I studied at Paco Catholic School for 11 years where my mother and her siblings also studied. Then during college, I studied at Asia Pacific College as a computer science student where I joined Microsoft Community as my organization. I started at a lower position and eventually became the president. I also joined the student council as public relations officer. I started at Hitachi 2 Solutions as an intern and eventually got hired and now I am working at the company for more than 2 years and got promoted as a Technical Analyst.
Could someone with a different background do your job?
Yes, I think someone with a different background could do my job as a data analyst. Someone with an idea about analytics might be able to do it
What's the coolest thing about your job?
If you are the type of person who likes to learn every day, I think this job is for you. My job is something you will want to keep and makes you want to do your best every single day. Every day is a chance to prove to yourself that you can do it and a chance to keep improving. It has ups and downs but I am sure that it is fun.
What are the limitations of your job?
I think that the only limitation of my job is finding the solution to a task online – searching via Google. For me, it is somehow hard to check for suggestions or solutions online as not everyone is using Microsoft Dynamics 365 as their product or using X++ as a programming language. But I think this is a good thing and a good challenge for you to learn and maybe start a conversation with your colleagues. I don’t think that this is bad rather I think of it in a way for me to improve myself.
