Application Process & Interviews at Manila Electric Company (Meralco)

The whole process was very quick from having my application confirmed up until my interview. We were informed well ahead of time, and I appreciated the quick replies to inquiry.

The process was convenient.

All I can say is that the filtering process is taken very seriously since we had to undergo multiple screenings.

They were quick to tell you whether you got accepted or not. the instructions were very detailed and you wont get lost in the process. if you have questions, they would attend to it immediately

It was pretty straightforward and I would recommend it to aspiring interns who want to work on a utility company.

The process of recruiting interns at Meralco surpassed my initial expectations. Hailing from a typical state university rather than one of the esteemed institutions in the country, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm reception I received. Meralco's open-armed welcome made my transition into the company incredibly smooth and enjoyable right from the outset.

The interview process and assessments were good. During these phases, I was really assessed if I was compatible and would do good in the job.

It was good. They just ask me a few questions about my background and about what I know about the company.

The hiring process was accommodating and considerate.

It was what I expected it to be which will really test if you can keep up with the working environment in Meralco.

I was asked about my course, capabilities and experience, and what made me interested in applying for an internship role at the company and the specific department. I was also asked about my expectations and goals for the internship.

What are my strengths and weaknesses? What were my previous roles?

What programming languages do I know - Am I familiar with any Power Systems Software - What Major I was taking up

what were your experiences, what do you do in your free time, what are you expecting for the job, usual job interview questions

The most impactful question that I can remember is "What made you chose this role at our company" and I said that it was one of the works that I see will give me an edge on the field of analytics due to the field's domain knowledge I can learn.

What is our purpose in our internship?

They asked us about what we were expecting and what can we contribute for the company.

I was asked questions about what are the operations in the company, and to "market" myself in providing what I can provide to the company.

For future candidates, I would say have courage to try it out. You may feel overwhelmed or may second guess your abilities but know that Meralco is a great learning environment to grow and apply yourself in. I would best recommend that they check out the Meralco website, get to know the roots of the company and its departments. The website is also a great place to get the job description of the role you'd be entering. I would also suggest browsing through their social media sites like Meralco careers to get a glimpse of what to expect. Practice introducing yourself in the mirror, and put the best and most relevant information about yourself forward.

Try to hone skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

just be well-equipped with the knowledge you gained from studying, etc. stay calm.

Be respectful and try to give the interviewers the answers that they expect without any sugarcoating and long monologues.

Be yourself

Prospective candidates would be wise to delve into the latest advancements and innovations pioneered by Meralco, as their future roles, should they be fortunate enough to secure a position, are likely to center around these ongoing developments. Moreover, they should mentally prepare themselves for the elevated expectations and exacting standards right from the onset of their journey within the company. This proactive approach will help them acclimate more smoothly and prevent becoming overwhelmed by the demanding atmosphere.

Just be true to themselves and everything will be aligned to their purpose.

Just be yourself and do your best.

The questions are not fixed, but the answers are good if you believe in it. They just have to calm down and give their most honest answers.

Make sure that you understand and analyze the work. Anything else like working environment is great. You have to focus on learning and developing skills in order to cope with the work given to you.
