The Maxicare Healthcare story

Maxicare was established in 1987 by a group of business professionals and doctors, with Maixcare becoming one of the Philippines' pioneers in the health maintenance organization industry. With a vision to deliver a better healthcare system, Maxicare progressed into being the #1 HMO in the Philippines more than two decades later, offering comprehensive healthcare programs via its vast network of customer support and medical providers.

It was in 2005 that Maxicare, having partnered with IT Solutions company Medilink Inc., launched the Maxicare Multifunction Card which allowed users to quickly validate their membership status via Point-of-Sale terminals in clinics and hospitals. The company introduced its web-based support systems for members and corporate HR members in 2013 and by 2015, the company had already reached one million members. The company is often listed in BusinessWorld's Top 1000 Corporations, trumping other healthcare providers in the industry.

Maxicare is a member of the Equicom Group, a diversified conglomerate that focuses on the areas of computer services, information technology, leasing, financing, and banking services.

The recruitment process

The recruitment process varies from role to role, but graduates may expect a series of interviews with HR representatives and department heads, and online or written aptitude or technical tests.

Remuneration

Maxicare offers an industry-competitive basic salary with fringe benefits that may include: comprehensive healthcare coverage, up to 15th-month bonuses, medical and optical reimbursement, retirement/pension plans, paid vacation leave and sick leave, clothing allowance (for officer level), travel incentives for sales team members, quarterly rice subsidy, and loyalty incentives.

The vibe of the place

Graduates looking for an entry-point to the healthcare industry will develop valuable skills in Maxicare, as the company puts a premium on training and experience. Though insiders complain about long hours and challenging workloads, this is often offset by the company's wide array of fringe benefits and supportive management.
