Diesel Generator Mechanic/Engineer (Start ASAP)

Trinity Workforce Solutions is looking for DIESEL GENERATOR MECHANIC / ENGINEER

• Salary starts at 25k
• Reimbursement for commuting to sites
• Contract for 6 months extendable and subj to absorption
• Starting Date: May 16

Skills & Qualifications

• Should have motorbike with them
• Previous experience working on O&M of Tower operations.
• Previous experience working on Diesel Generators.
• Completed an apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Diesel or Plant Fitting, or have a relevant qualification in one of those courses.
• Ideally strong knowledge of diesel generators such as FG Wilson, JCB, and Himoinsa.
• Valid Driving License.
• Able to use own initiative as well as working as part of a team.
• Good customer service and communication skills.

Role Description

• Carry out fault finding and diagnosis to a range of diesel generator sets.
• Resolve electrical and mechanical engine problems.
• Replacing electrical and mechanical components.
• Carry out basic engine servicing.
• Carry out site testing.
• Be a part of the on-call rota.
• Customer liaison, update and ensure complete customer satisfaction.
• Good housekeeping of both customer sites and company vehicle.
• Adhere to company health & safety standards.
• May do other work incidental to maintenance
• Plan, coordinate and execute work in an organized, safe and effective manner to meet schedule, budget, and customer’s expectations
• Must be able to travel, in a company service vehicle, throughout the local counties
• Must be able to travel 80-90% of the time in an assigned region, and/or work overtime, weekends, or holidays, sometimes on short notice
• Must be able to work well under pressure or within deadlines
• Electrical troubleshooting and relay logic
• Knowledge of AC/DC power
• Able to test current and voltage in a safe manner
• Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools
• Performs preventative maintenance activities per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field
