Dennis B. Dioquino

My journey at Unilab has been nothing short of remarkable – from starting as a Medical Representative trainee in Cagayan De Oro to now serving as the Field Operations Director for Pediatrica

Role in Unilab

Currently, I am the Field Operations Director for Pediatrica (Pediatric Division of Unilab, handling children’s medicines). My role is to oversee and lead the Operations Group’s day-to-day activities. I am happy to be back in Operations because this is where I started.

Walk Down Memory Lane

I applied for Unilab while I was studying and finishing my internship. I took the exam and I was lucky enough to pass. Unilab is my first and only job after college.

I remember when I first started as a Medical Representative— everything was new to me and you have to adapt the soonest. As a fresh graduate, it was not easy; I had to put my heart and soul into it. It’s more than just detailing your products to doctors. It’s all about sacrificing your time and being sincere in everything that you do for them.

Looking back, these are the things that molded me as a person and as a Unilab Warrior. People talk more about the numbers and sales, but between those numbers, you have to make sacrifices and action plans pushing the numbers to where they are today.

Through the years, my friends and Unilab counterparts also became my family.

Evolving with Unilab

I started as a Med Rep trainee in Cagayan De Oro, moved to different territories, and took on different roles (Operations, Customer Management, Product Management). When I was transferred to the Product Management Group (PMG), I expanded my wings.

I handled several big brands like Biogesic, Dolan and Growee. I was also the part of the Ceelin Team, and became Product Manager and Lead for Ethical Promotions. In 2013, during the merger with Unilab Consumer Health and Pediatrica, I moved up as the Category Head. People development and training support is key. Unilab provided and has given me opportunities to develop and sharpen my skills by sending me to different trainings, such as the Ateneo- Marketing Diploma Program.

Of all my achievements, the best and memorable one would be as a Med Rep— with activities involving prescription generation and developing MD relations. I always look back on this moment: Nasa labas ako ng MD (Doctor) clinic and beside the fronting drugstore, umiinom ako ng soft drink na nasa plastic pa, waiting for your turn to cover for MD detailing. Being relatively new, scripts sometimes don’t go your way, and amoxicillin was the biggest molecule in the 90’s. Then one day, you see that prescription going for you and gradually taking over market share in territory. It’s a wonderful feeling. Even until now.

I believe that I represent my company and it’s a battle you have to win in the field. Right now, as an Operations Director, mentoring and coaching others and being a leader is truly rewarding. It’s about building new talents, and securing the future of the organization with great Unilab Talents.

Bayanihan through the years

Bayanihan and Husay at Malasakit is the guiding principle of each Warrior and has stayed the same throughout the years. As One Unilab, we have a rich understanding of what we stand for as a company, and we articulate it to both our employees and customers. In my years of service (28 years), I was able to mature swiftly and conquer most if not all challenges given the support of my superiors and teammates. I grew both professionally and personally, and I thank the company for nurturing the talent they saw in me. I learned so much, and will continue to share those learnings and skills to others.
