Mentoring is all about helping someone discover their own voice.

I saw that students were stuggling with the transition from high school to university because they didn't have the necessary information or they didn't have the necessary confidence and so I decided to change it.

Transitioning from Highschool to University is a really tricky transition for anyone to undertake. For me, Access Monash was very helpful because I was given an instant support group. I was given the other Mentors, and aside from that, a bit of my financial burden was eased by the scholarship that Access Monash provides.

I'm really lucky that I'm from a rural background and so I've had experience overcoming a few challenges in order to get to University and I can speak to a place of experience when I'm talking to mentees. They hear about where I come from and they realized that they, too, can get there.

Mentoring is all about helping someone discover their own voice. It's empowering people with the knowledge and with confidence to know that they can follow the path they want to follow.
