Job Satisfaction at Manila Electric Company (Meralco)

My role as an OD intern revolved mostly around research and assisting in the creation of presentations. The day-to-day responsibilities vary, I'm given work to accomplish independently with a deadline to check-in with what I was able to accomplish. It's up to me to manage my workload effectively.

I work on the social media and external partnerships on some campaigns.

I was able to learn about Synergy Electric, a powerful Power systems software.

I was dealing with customer experience data and make conclusions on how to improve the ways we handle them.

My daily work consists of typical Filipino business center desktop job tasks like excel macro creation, powerbi report creation and insights on their data. Which makes it quite analytically heavy but my supervisor and the team didn't pressure me to finish quickly, instead they told me to work at my own pace which I really appreciate.

Tiring

During my internship, I was tasked with delving deep into the intricate technical facets of microgrids, a domain completely unfamiliar to me at the outset. The challenge was further intensified by the tight timeframe, with only 250 hours allocated for the entire internship. This accelerated pace presented a formidable hurdle to overcome. The situation sparked my curiosity about how a longer-term commitment, such as that of a regular or probationary employee, might have afforded a more in-depth exploration of this complex field. It left me pondering the depths of knowledge that could have been reached with a more extended engagement.

I was assigned on creation of condensed single line diagram of Valenzuela Sector and Power BI of North SLEM

I have been assigned to every offices on Valenzuela Sector. I went to places for inspections and they thought me how Meralco managed being the top electric company. They also assigned me and my other co-interns to update the companys customer counts and a condensed single line diagram of Valenzuela Sector.

Observation of field operations by Construction 2 and Maintenance, and study of design plans for all operations. It was interesting, and you can feel the integrity of it all.

Researching and benchmarking to make sure all organizations are being efficient.
