Training & Personal Development at Manila Electric Company (Meralco)

The informal training, I received from the internship experience led me to deeper understand how organizations work. I was able to hone my skills in better presenting information and putting my point across in a diplomatic manner. The formal training, we received with LnD allowed me to appreciate how creativity is an essential tool in the workplace for better ideas to bloom.

Meralco has many trainings for professional development of employees

1. MCEP Training - I was able to join this program which aims to train Cadet Engineers. With this training, I was able to learn more about the company and how different processes work. 2. Synergy Electric Training - I familiarized myself with the power system software and learned how it is used by the company

The Meralco's I@M program was very well planned with intern's seminar/workshop activities that made the stay really enjoyable.

My experience has taught me that commencing one's career in a prestigious company may not always be the ideal path. It often makes more sense to gather valuable experiences in entry-level to mid-level organizations before stepping into the realm of high standards and expectations. Furthermore, my time at Meralco unveiled the significance of mastering various software tools not typically covered in academic settings. An illustrative example is Helioscope, a software tailored for designing and crafting solar power systems in specific locations. This exposure broadened my skill set in a practical and real-world context, underscoring the significance of adaptability and the ability to acquire new software proficiencies.

I was trained on different offices in Valenzuela Sector even in a short period of time. I learned a lot about their jobs event though I couldn't do it correctly right away.

They gave us programs specifically for the interns and went to locations where they work.

The personnel are more than accommodating with my questions and actions involving the operations of the company. They immediately correct you if you make a mistake.

The tasks given to me were essential parts in the process for the team. I learned to use MS Office tools and researching.
