The Story of SIMMI Foundation

SIMMI was granted the Certificate of Business Registration for the first time on March 20, 2020. The foundation has two directors, Manish Sharma and Nitesh Kumar.

SIMMI stands for Smart India Multi Management Institute, a pan India NGO carrying out welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood, and women empowerment. For education, they provide scholarships, training, free academic education, and other incentives to the children.

For livelihood, they implement various schemes to provide livelihood and help the poor. For healthcare, they promote sanitization and provide access to better nutrition, toilets, and clean water. For youth and women empowerment, they provide equal opportunities for women.

They also conduct various campaign programs like cultural and sports events, virtual events, donations, etc. to collect their funds that will be used in completing various objectives like free education for the poor and women empowerment.

Culture & vibe

SIMMI has a friendly environment, good people to work with, and nice work ethic. They provide a good place to learn new things, gain experience, make connections, and discover your potential. They also value original initiatives to create awareness addressing their key sectors.

Recruitment Process

Most of their job openings are for internships and volunteering. Many of the internships can be done part-time from homes, such as for Fundraising, Social Work, and Social Media Management. These jobs are unpaid, but the intern will be given a certificate upon the completion of their task.

Other job areas for internship are full-time (in-office), such as HR and Email Marketing for a tenure of two to three months. The basic requirements are: fresh graduates, having a laptop/computer with a good internet connection, and good communication skills in English.

Unfortunately, SIMMI Foundation Philippines does not have its own website, so the organization often announces job openings through its social media. The interested candidates can apply for the job they want through a certain email mentioned there. When you meet the requirements, you will be contacted for an interview (usually face to face).

The volunteers in this organization will be asked to stay sharp and think of various ways (preferably original initiatives) to help and cater to the needs of the organization. They also need to participate in two volunteering activities in a week and regularly attend the meetings conducted by the team leader.

Remuneration & Career Growth

Because it is a non-profit NGO, sometimes the job is unpaid or the pay scale is not competitive.

Benefits

People joining this organization can have the following benefits:

  • Certificate of internship
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Flexible work hour
  • Informal dress code

Career prospects

Most of the staff in this organization are not in permanent employment. Because they are mostly interns, sometimes there is no one to guide them on how to do the work. However, the organization is still very young and has lots of opportunities to grow.
