Kristine Quiambao

Always end the day with so much gratitude, knowing that I have been given the wonderful opportunity to be part of the Unilab family.

6.30 AM

Since I am usually early (work starts at 7.30 am), I get to enjoy a peaceful vibe in our beautiful Unilab campus. From entering the parking to walking in the grand reception area, checking our “friendship” oval with lush trees, and going up to my work area, I really appreciate the many clean and green spaces I pass by. I’m grateful to be able to work in a LEED-Certified workspace. (Fun fact: Unilab is a LEED-Certified workplace, meaning— its building design meets sustainability goals and environmentally focused standards)

Sometimes, when I arrive in my work area, I would see surprise treats and notes in my table! It really warms my heart to feel the kind and caring culture in my team in Human Resources. My teammates are also the sweetest.

6.45 AM

For breakfast, I would usually stay in my work area (yes, I usually have cupcakes too) When I am in the mood, I go to the cafeteria to grab a cup of coffee (for free!).

7.30 AM

My workday officially begins! I start by checking my emails and prioritizing my tasks for the day.

8.00 AM

When I need to be “in the zone”, I book my own room so that I can work privately without any distractions. There’s no fixed set of daily work activities. Each day would be different— sometimes I’d have back-to-back meetings. Other times, I would start my morning with creating slides and finalizing decks for presentations. Most times though, since I handle several projects, I spend my time executing my project tasks and making sure that I am able to meet deadlines and my KPIs.

Of course, I need bathroom breaks in between. Haha!

Yay! It’s lunch time. I would normally get packed lunch meals from our awesome chefs in the Unilab cafeteria. I eat in my work area when I’m not in the mood to go to the café. Here’s some photos capturing the very delicious and healthy food cooked by our amazing in-house chefs at Unilab.

Sometimes, I have lunch outs with my colleagues.

Other times, I squeeze in some gym time at 66 Fit (Unilab gym) before having my lunch

Back at the office area, and back to the grind. Again, no fixed set of daily work activities. Whatever needs to be prioritized gets prioritized— sometimes, my work afternoons would be filled with a series of meetings. Other times, it would be jampacked with back-to-back presentations.

Meryenda! When I have time, I happily squeeze in some meryenda (snack time) with my colleagues. And when I still have some extra energy, I participate in our fitbreak /exercise sessions in the afternoon.

4.30 PM

It’s important for me to walk around for a few minutes in the afternoon. I value the time to breathe after doing a bunch of work activities. It can be draining sometimes, so I find the time to walk and just breathe. This is how I find my calm and peace in between challenging moments at work. I always feel relaxed and comforted when I walk in our office grounds which is full of nature. I am also always filled with gratitude knowing that I am able to work in such a beautiful office with clean and green spaces. This makes me happy, grateful, and inspired!
